Qixing Zhang is an associate professor at State Key Laboratory of Fire Science (SKLFS), University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). SKLFS is the only national research institute in the field of fire science in China, and has a long and proud tradition of providing outstanding basic research and comprehensive education in the field of fire science and engineering.

Qixing Zhang’s research mainly focused on the urgent and fundamental problems of smoke detection, both video image and optoelectronic smoke sensing, for fire safety engineering in buildings and harsh environments, such as wildland, aircraft cargo, space station, etc.

He and his students pursue this research in their laboratory at SKLFS and also in collaboration with industry colleagues.
